LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF

I have over 60 years of sewing experience; including knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and some design work.  Besides a required “Home-Ec” class in middle school, 99.9% of what I know has been self-taught.

My creativity was sparked at a very young age.  I handmade Barbie doll clothes with scraps of fabric and pieces of old jewelry.  My grandmother introduced me to a sewing machine (an old pedal machine).  Then at age eight, a friend taught me how to knit.  I knitted my first scarf.  I taught myself to crochet, embroider, cross-stitch and whatever else came my way.

As the years went on, I received my first sewing machine in the 8th grade.  I gained more experience by mastering my sewing machine and learning to use commercial patterns.  This is about the time I started sewing for others and teaching friends to sew.

To date, my experience covers knowledge and use of various types and brands of sewing machines, sergers, embroidery machines, just to name a few.  I also teach people to use their machines, knitting needles and crochet needles along with fabrics, threads and yarns.

I also fill in occasionally as an instructor at other sewing studios.  I am always sewing, knitting, crocheting, etcetera, for myself and family members.  I have also incorporated art into wearable clothing.

Creativity is food for the soul and healing for the mind!!!
